DDay Beaches overnight tour

2100,00

A tour of the largest sites of the 1944 landings including Utah Beach, Omaha Beach, the three main museums and German bunkers. Without forgetting the American cemetery of Colleville.

It takes two days to take the time to immerse yourself in the history of the most important aero-naval operation of WW2. After a 3.5 hour drive from Paris in a comfortable minivan with reclining seats, you will start with Utah-Beach, where a new museum has been built above German bunkers, the jewel of which is a B26 Marauder plane, one of only two examples still existing in the world.

The beach remained the same as in June 1944, and we’ll have lunch (L’Estaminet restaurant)  in the first liberated village, Sainte-Marie du Mont, very authentic. Then it will be time to go to Sainte-Mère l’Eglise where the paratroopers of the 82nd Airborn left many men.

In Sainte-Mère l’Eglise, a museum with thousands of collection items (weapons, uniforms, tanks, artillery) and immersive videos in the center of the village will surely interest you! At the end of the afternoon, the defensive site of Pointe du hoc famous cliffs, between Utah and Omaha beach, will remind you of the Rangers’ exploit immortalized in the film The Longest day.

The day ends in the magnificent city of Bayeux, where we propose you the choice of a hotels and restaurant for dinner. The hotel is not included, we send you a link to book it.

The second day begins at 9 a.m. to visit Omaha Beach, its bunkers and museum, and obviously its immense 12-kilometer beach, whose hillsides offered an ideal view of the German defenses. The emotion will grow after lunch by visiting the Colleville US cemetery, where 10,000 heroes rest in peace. The return time to Paris is around 6 p.m.
